In the United Kingdom, the average woman is slightly more than 5 feet 4 inches in height. Most high street stores and boutiques, and indeed supermarkets, cater for Miss Average with a range of styles and fashions. But for those who are taller, it’s not always such a simple process, and finding the right sizes isn’t necessarily easy.

However, it’s not as difficult as some people might imagine. There are several companies that specialise in supplying clothing for those who are taller, and they all have a wide variety of fashionable, beautifully-made apparel for young and old alike.

There are an awful lot of people who are taller than the norm, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’re well catered for. Many of the world’s top models are six feet or more in height, as are several famous Hollywood movie stars.

Clothing for tall women can be extremely alluring, and there are several little tricks that can make them even more so. Accentuating the waist is a good idea, as it reduces the effect of height. A wide belt will help with this, and it’s worth bearing in mind that they’re available in all shapes, sizes and colours.

It’s not a good idea to wear the same colour top and trousers, as this will give an effect of being even taller. The look of a long dress in a single colour should be broken up with a belt. Similarly, wearing stripes is not advisable, as again they make the wearer look taller.

One of the benefits of having more height is the ability to make trousers and denims look more attractive, especially the skinny jeans that have become more and more trendy in recent years. They accentuate the legs and can look stunning on the wearer.
